Am
I God?
performance

„Бог ли съм?" Звуков фон: Am I God?
Summer time, a lazy afternoon in the cool of the abandoned old Brewery at the center of Sofia.
The stage where the performance will be held is designed ‘high-wards’, metal staircases and platforms, supposed to serve machines that have been dead for long now, provide seats to the spectators. There is a light leakage through the ruined roof of the brewery. There is a bed on the stage, covered with a white sheet, a table with a white cloth beside the bed. A plaster figure of a crucified man (230x220x50cm) is hanging above the bed. A crucifix without cross. The soft parts of the human body have been given prominence in the sculpting of the figure. It seems that the bones (ankles, knees, pelvis, chest bone, collar-bone, elbow joints) were now and then ‘touched’ by the sculptor’s hand only when it needed to keep the parts of the body together.
Raw materials used in the process of humanoid reproduction (listed in the order of usage): organic
inorganic black ink & a brush (to draft the humanoid profile) plaster & water (to cast a mould of the bowels)
Duration: 15 minutes
Sound effects: In the beginning while the organic materials are taken out and prepared for the performance, a VOA live afternoon service is on air. While the humanoid is taking shape a repetitive ringing sound is to be followed by a soft flapping of oars ( a Pink Floyd mix). At the end of the performance when the mould is cast VOA goes on with its usual afternoon broadcasts.
